Recycling Equipment for Industrial Sites

Recycling Equipment for Industrial Sites
  • Opening Intro -

Industrial sites pose the risk of creating a plethora of waste.

Implementing recycling equipment is crucial to cut down on the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

-------------------------------------

While some materials can easily be recycled or reused if they’re a smaller size, a bigger problem in the industrial space is finding ways to recycle larger items. Manufacturers and industrial business owners should look to add recycling equipment for industrial sites to their job to tackle this problem.

Below are a few standard pieces of equipment to consider investing in.

Shredders

Most large-scale recycling equipment’s overall goal is to make larger materials smaller and more manageable for recycling efforts. Shredders facilitate material reduction in a wide range of recycling applications. The raw material created during the shredding process can then be reused during various manufacturing processes.

Pulverizers

Pulverizers can shred materials too, but they can also grind and crush them into fine material. Pulverizers typically come in three main categories, including crushers, impactors, and grinders. Crushers reduce the size of very large dense materials such as rock and stone. Impactors are very similar to crushers but differ in the manner of size reduction.

Impaction is force that is transmitted through a collision or by striking one body against another, whereas crushing is the use of pressure created by two opposing forces. Lastly, grinding pulverizers use friction to break down materials.

Granulators

Granulators are useful in the reduction of difficult materials. Granulators use a high-speed knife mill to cut down large components. Many types of granulators are available for specific industrial needs, such as plastic water bottle manufacturing to cut down plastics to copper wire granulators for copper recycling.

Compactors

One of the most well-known pieces of equipment for recycling on industrial sites is compactors. As the name suggests, compactors can compact large materials into flat or smaller sizes. This makes handling and transporting the material much more manageable. For example, a compactor can compact leftover sawdust from a job site to easily transport and use in other products.

Separators

Separation and sorting equipment is imperative to industrial recycling. Not all waste on your job site will be eligible for recycling. In this instance, a separator can ensure that non-recyclables and recyclables are separate from one another to dispose of each properly.

A common type of separating machine is a magnetic separator. This type of separator will segment all magnetic material from non-magnetic material.

Metal Shears

Once again, metal shears are another tool that can reduce the size of large objects for recycling purposes. Metal sheering machines can cut through large pieces of metal, like sheet metal, into thin strips as it is fed into the machine, turning it into dozens of smaller pieces that can easily be transported, melted down, and used again for another product.

These common types of recycling equipment for industrial sites help make any industrial and manufacturing space more sustainable.
